Although not officially released to the public, the soundtrack for Tyler Perry's "The Family That Preys Together" is ripe with R&B and Pop hits.

Scored by Aaron Zigman, “The Family That Preys” features 18 songs. Although the studio has yet to release the soundtrack album, the movie features songs that eloquently tell the story in bars and hooks.

Jill Scott’s Hate On Hater

One of the first artists to emerge from Philadelphia’s neo-soul movement in the mid 1990s, Jill Scott sultry blend of jazz, R&B, spoken word, and hip hop has cemented her place in the music industry.

Her song, “Hate On Hater” was originally featured on her third studio album, “The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3.” The 3 minute and 29 second track speaks directly to the “haters” in the world and encourages them to “hate on hater.” The song can be heard on the previews for the popular movie.

Janet Jackson’s Rock With You

So: Janet’s “Discipline” album wasn’t very well received in record stores. But it literally doesn’t stop the music. From her early days as Penny on “Good Times” to her current “Rockwitu” tour, Janet has long been established as one of the best to ever do “it.”

Her song, “Rock With You” is featured on “The Family That Preys Together” soundtrack. Janet whispers the song’s sexy lyrics over the pop/dance soundtrack while executing meticulous and innovative dance moves in the song’s video.

The Family That Preys: The Movie

"The Family That Preys" is a far cry from what fans have become used to from Tyler Perry. Starring Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, Tyler Perry, Cole Hauser, Sanaa Lathan, and Taraj P. Henson, the movie shows the “inner workings of two families—one upper-crust and the other working class—that become inextricable linked by scandal.”

Charlotte Catwright (played by Bates) and Alice Pratt (played by Woodard) have enjoyed a long friendship despite their vastly different lives. Chaos ensues when their adult children’s extramarital affairs and sketchy business practices threaten to tear apart the lives of all involved.
